AIGA BMORE Design Week is a 7 day long journey where each day holds an event that celebrates the power of creativity, inclusivity, and community. Where every story, voice, and vision comes together to shape the future of design within Baltimore and within anyone else who happens to come along. This event happens every October and is hosted by a nonprofit, called AIGA Baltimore.
Budget for both years: $2,250.00
My Role and Contribution
I led a dedicated team of 14 AIGA Baltimore board members in planning and executing a weeklong series of programs for BMORE Design Week 2024 and 2025, serving and engaging the local creative community. I facilitated weekly check-ins to track progress across committees, collaborated with the Vice President to develop and manage project timelines in ClickUp, and coordinated with vendors, workshop facilitators, and speakers to ensure smooth logistics and budget alignment. Through a strong focus on engagement and outreach, this strategic approach resulted in a 25% increase in sponsorship inquiries and secured continued support from returning sponsors, strengthening AIGA Baltimore’s long-term partnerships.
The Objective
Drive more signups through Eventbrite
Include virtual events for accessibility
Grow our social media platforms with more followers
Provide more diversity in event topics in the creative industry
The Challenges
AIGA's National Conference is held in October
Adobe MAX conference is held in October
AIGA DC Design Week is held in October
Students and Educators are preparing for midterms
The Solution
Participate and encourage chapter support by attending AIGA DC and National events. Be aware of their programming and work around it. This also includes other creative conferences or organization in the industry, like Adobe.
Reach out to Educators at local universities and ask what week is their mid-term.
Ask students, early to mid career professionals, and creative leaders through 1 one 1 interviews what do they want to learn more about, and what kind of representation they are looking for.
Pay attention to the global and local news, and social media so you can better understand how people are feeling and how design or the creative community can show up. Always be aware!
The Outcome
The combined participation in BMORE Design Week 2024 and 2025 grew by 70% compared to BMORE Design Week 2018 and 2019, driven by increased engagement and event visibility. Total signups rose from 292 across 2018 and 2019 to 498 across 2024 and 2025, reflecting the event’s growing appeal and stronger community presence under my planning and coordination. The consistent year-over-year growth highlights the success of ongoing promotional efforts and the expanding interest in AIGA BMORE Design Week’s programming and experiences.
