Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) stands for a world in which refugees find welcome, safety, and opportunity. HIAS provides vital services to refugees, asylum seekers, and other forcibly displaced and stateless persons around the world and advocates for their fundamental rights so they can rebuild their lives.

The Assignment

HIAS wanted to restructure their all-year around donation page, refresh their Newsletter and Email template with simple color blocking and full bleed images. I was assigned to design this package under the services of M+R. Note: Design changes may have been made since this was launched in 2021.

My Design Process

The Outcome

Designing the Newsletter and Email Templates came together quickly, thanks to keeping the layouts clean, simple, and easy to reuse. The Donation Page, however, required a deeper dive. I spent significant time building out the interactive prototype in Figma—mapping out the full donation flow, refining the post-donation experience, and designing the upsell lightbox. Exploring these interactions in detail made it easier to validate the user journey and ensure nothing was overlooked. The extra effort paid off: both the client and the developers were able to fully interact with the prototype, clicking through key actions, hovering over elements, and understanding exactly how each component should behave. This made handoff smooth and helped confirm that the final direction was not only feasible for development but also genuinely well-received by the client.
